Finite resources and the fall of society as we know it, if nothing changes in the next twenty-five years.

A topic that has been on my mind of the past few years is, peak oil.  If you understand what the term means, great.  For those of you who do not, a quick and dirty explanation is, we are simply running out of oil.  The number one reason for the recent war in Iraq, Afghanistan and any country we step foot in, in the future will be to accumulate oil.  Our entire economy was built around the finite resource that is oil.  It is the exact reason we are seeing a fluctuating economy right now, it will get better and quickly get worse as the years progress, unless we make a change.

If more people come to this realization then change will come quicker.  I know there will be many who will call me a conspiracy theorist, a communist, etc.  Pass your judgments if you must, they have all been said before, and it won't be the last time I will have heard them either.

Reading interviews and other information scattered around the web (albeit from sometimes not the most credible of sources) I have come to these conclusions.  I'm going to throw a name out there though, Michael C. Ruppert.  If you haven't heard of the man, read up on him.  I'm also going to throw out two movie titles that are a must see.  The first being pretty much a straight interview with Mr. Ruppert titled: "Collapse".  The second is a movie released Tuesday the twenty-fifth of January, 2011 titled: "Zeitgeist: Moving Forward".  The latter being two hours and forty-one minutes long, be prepared to devote some time to it.

Now, since I know I don't have many readers and I know even the ones who do, probably won't spend the time, money or effort to watching these movies.  I'm going to put this as blunt as possible.  In the next twenty-five years we will most likely see oil dwindle, hyper inflation, the economy crashing several times and a dramatic increase in poverty, if our energy resources aren't changed.  Meaning, doing away with money, getting off our reliance of fossil fuels and working as a society to better each other, instead of working to better us individually.

I don't have faith that this change will ever take place with the current generation or even this population.  I am simply passing on the word for those who choose to run with it.  The word needs to be spread, regardless if anything ever comes to pass from it.
